●Explanation
The Green Building Assessment System, an
eco-friendly building certification system, is evaluated based on the following
five comprehensive parts
Sustainable site develoment |
Water savings |
Energy efficiency |
Material selection |
Indoor environmental quality |
The test
contents for [Environment Tabacco Smoke (ETS) Control], one of the prerequisites
for obtaining LEED certification, are as follows.
Recent buildings are becoming more and more dense and deteriorated as measures
to reduce energy loss, condensation, noise isolation, and building user’s
discomfort. There however are also negative aspects that cause IAQ (In Door Air
Quality) and Sick House Syndrome.
Therefore,
recently, as interest of IAQ (indoor air quality) has increased, importance of
evaluation method and airtightness performance rating for dampness and dewing
of building is increasing. By evaluating the dewatering performance of the
building, it can be used as a basic data for future design of anti-dewproofing
of buildings by quantitatively identifying the factors that can affect various
types of dewing, such as the structure of the building, the year of use and the
type of window.
The method of measuring the deposition rate of a building includes a gas
tracing method and a pressurization / depressurization method etc.
●Tracer gas method
As the most
basic method to measure the number of indoor ventilation, after uncertainty gas
such as cobalt [CO], carbon dioxide [CO2], dinitrogen monoxide [N2O] and the
like which are well mixed with indoor air is arbitrarily blown into the room,
it is the method of calculating the number of times of ventilation due to draft and leaking of
a building by measuring the change in gas concentration with a gas meter or the
like as time goes by
< Test method application standard>
KS F 2603 - Method to measure indoor ventilation |
ISO 12569 - Tracer gas dilution method |
●Pressurization/Depressurization method
A method of
estimating the amount of air flow after adjusting the indoor / outdoor pressure
difference to an arbitrary state using a fan, etc.
<Test method application standard>
ASTM E779-03 - Standard test method for determining air leakage rate by fan pressurization |
ISO 9972 - Determination method |
※ Among them, the fan pressurization method related
to ASTM E779-03 includes the measurement of the mechanical pressurization,
depressurization of the building and the result of the air current situation of
the static pressure change inside and outside the room. In the relationship
between the air current situation and the pressure change, the air leakage
characteristic of the building envelope can be evaluated. The fan
pressurization method is simple compared with the measurement of the tracer gas
and it is important to characterize the airtightness performance of the
building envelope. It can be used to compare comparable airtight performance of
several similar buildings and to determine air leakage reduction and
ventilation rates for individual retrofit measurements applied to existing
buildings, combined with leakage rates, weather and leaking location
information due to other configurations on the building envelope, such as the
root cause of leakage.
